Product Warranty & Claims

Competitive Card Solutions Phils. Inc. (CCS)

At CCS, we provide warranty and after-sales assistance for eligible products purchased from us.

This guide explains our standard warranty coverage, how to request assistance, what information to prepare, and the procedures for submitting products for inspection, repair or replacement.

1. Do CCS Products Come With a Warranty?

Yes. CCS generally provides a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, unless a specific product carries a different warranty period.

Warranty coverage depends on the product brand, model and applicable warranty conditions.

The standard warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered.

Some products, particularly ID Card Printers, have longer manufacturer-backed warranties.

2. How Long Is the Warranty for ID Card Printers?

Certain Magicard printers sold by CCS have the following advertised limited warranty periods:

Printer ModelWarranty Period
Magicard 100 Neo2 years
Magicard 300 Neo2 years
Magicard 600 Neo3 years
Magicard D2 years

Other printers and equipment may have different warranty periods.

Important: Always refer to the warranty documentation supplied with your product or the applicable product listing for the exact coverage, conditions and limitations.

3. What Does the Warranty Cover?

CCS's standard warranty generally covers qualifying manufacturing defects under normal use, proper installation and the applicable product warranty conditions.

If an eligible product develops a covered defect during its warranty period, CCS may:

  • Repair the defective product or component.

  • Replace the defective product or component with an equivalent item.

  • Provide another appropriate remedy under the applicable warranty conditions.

Replacement products or components may be new or reconditioned, as permitted by the warranty terms.

All claims are subject to verification and assessment.

4. What Is Not Covered by the Warranty?

Warranty coverage generally does not include problems resulting from:

  • Expired warranty coverage

  • Improper use, misuse or physical damage

  • Unauthorized modifications or repairs

  • Damage caused by natural disasters, such as flooding or lightning

  • Improper testing, modification or handling

  • Products with missing or unrecognizable serial numbers, subject to verification

Consumables, accessories and wear-related components may have different coverage conditions depending on the product and manufacturer.

Note: Warranty eligibility is determined through the applicable product terms and CCS's assessment. An exclusion does not automatically remove remedies available under applicable consumer protection laws.

5. How Do I Request Warranty Assistance?

If your product is not functioning correctly, please follow these steps.

Step 1 – Contact CCS Technical Support

Explain the issue through our chatbot or another official support channel.

Our team will first attempt to resolve the concern remotely whenever possible.

Step 2 – Perform Initial Troubleshooting

Follow the applicable troubleshooting instructions provided by our chatbot or Technical Support team.

If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, physical inspection may be necessary.

Step 3 – Obtain Customer Service Authorization

Before shipping or bringing a defective product to a CCS office, you must obtain authorization from CCS Customer Service (CSR).

This authorization step does not restrict your statutory rights.

Our Customer Service team will provide the appropriate submission instructions.

Step 4 – Submit the Product for Assessment

Follow the instructions provided by CCS regarding the correct service location, packaging and delivery arrangements.

Step 5 – Warranty Verification and Inspection

CCS will verify the product's warranty status and assess the reported problem.

Step 6 – Repair, Replacement or Further Action

If the claim is covered, CCS will proceed according to the applicable warranty terms.

If the issue is not covered, our team will advise the available paid repair options and any applicable charges.

6. What Information Do I Need for a Warranty Claim?

Please prepare as much of the following information as possible:

  • Product Serial Number – The primary identifier for the product

  • Problem Description – Details of the issue or malfunction

  • Product Brand and Model – To help identify the appropriate procedure

  • Sales Invoice or Official Receipt – If available

  • Photos or Videos – When useful for identifying the problem

In most cases, the product serial number and a clear description of the problem are sufficient to begin an assessment.

Our team may request additional information when necessary.

7. What If I Lost My Sales Invoice?

If you purchased the product directly from CCS but no longer have your invoice, our team may be able to verify the transaction using internal Zoho Books sales records.

Please provide the product serial number and any available purchasing information.

A missing invoice does not automatically prevent you from requesting assistance.

Warranty eligibility must still be verified.

8. Who Pays the Shipping Costs for Warranty Repairs?

Shipping costs depend on whether the repair or replacement is covered by warranty.

Shipping ArrangementApproved In-Warranty ServiceOut-of-Warranty Service
Shipping the defective product to CCSCustomer paysCustomer pays
Shipping the repaired or replacement product back to the customerCCS paysCustomer pays

For an approved warranty repair or replacement, CCS covers the return shipping cost.

For out-of-warranty service, the customer is responsible for shipping costs in both directions; service and parts charges are handled separately.

These shipping arrangements apply to normal warranty repairs after normal use and to out-of-warranty service. Products that are defective on delivery (DOA) or wrongly supplied by CCS are handled differently; see Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations.

Bulky or fixed equipment may require special on-site service arrangements.

9. Can I Request Warranty Service at Any CCS Office?

CCS has offices in Quezon City, Cebu and Davao.

However, customers must obtain prior authorization from Customer Service before bringing or shipping equipment for inspection or repair.

Not every product can necessarily be serviced at every location.

Our team will confirm the appropriate service location and submission arrangements.

10. What Happens If My Product Is Out of Warranty?

CCS may still offer paid inspection and repair services for out-of-warranty products.

For ID Card Printers serviced at a CCS service center:

  • Usual inspection and service charge: ₱3,500

  • Repair labor: Included in the ₱3,500 fee

  • Replacement parts: Charged separately, when required

On-site technician visits are quoted separately.

Repair charges for other products are evaluated individually.

CCS will advise the applicable charges and obtain customer approval before proceeding with chargeable repairs.

11. Does CCS Offer Free Technical Support?

Yes. CCS provides free remote technical assistance through its available support channels.

Our Technical Support team may assist with:

  • Basic product troubleshooting

  • Printer errors and printing problems

  • Software installation and configuration

  • Product connectivity issues

  • General operating and maintenance guidance

If remote troubleshooting cannot resolve the issue, physical inspection or paid on-site service may be recommended.

12. How Long Does Warranty Repair Take?

Repair timelines depend on:

  • Nature of the reported problem

  • Product type and model

  • Inspection findings

  • Availability of replacement parts

  • Manufacturer support or replacement requirements

  • Shipping and logistics arrangements

CCS will advise the estimated repair or replacement timeline after assessment.

Repair completion dates are not guaranteed without confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is every product covered by a one-year warranty?

No. One year is the general warranty period. Certain products have longer or different warranty coverage.

Q: My Magicard printer is 18 months old. Is it still under warranty?

It may be, depending on the printer model, purchase details and applicable warranty conditions. Please provide the exact model and serial number so CCS can verify its coverage.

Q: Do I need my original invoice to request warranty service?

Not always. CCS may be able to verify purchases using its internal sales records. A product serial number and problem description are usually enough to begin an assessment.

Q: Can I send my defective printer directly to your office?

Please contact CCS Customer Service first and obtain authorization before shipping or bringing the product for assessment.

Q: Do I pay shipping when returning an in-warranty product?

Yes. The customer pays shipping to CCS. For an approved warranty claim, CCS pays the shipping cost to return the repaired or replacement product. This applies to normal warranty repairs; if the product was defective on delivery (DOA), different shipping arrangements apply, so please contact Customer Service first.

Q: What happens if the warranty has expired?

CCS may offer chargeable repair services. The customer is responsible for repair charges and shipping costs in both directions.

Q: Is repair labor included in the ₱3,500 ID Printer service fee?

Yes. The usual ₱3,500 service-center fee includes inspection and repair labor. Replacement parts are charged separately.

Q: Is the ₱3,500 fee applicable to on-site repairs?

No. On-site technical visits are quoted separately.

Q: Can CCS replace my defective product immediately?

Replacement depends on warranty verification, inspection findings, product availability and the applicable warranty conditions.
