I have a card jam or misfed

In direct to card printing the entire process is relatively smooth from start to finish. However, you may experience issues with cards jamming randomly or repeatedly.

DON’T PULL IT! You could cause more damage.

CAUSE:

  1. Slippage due to excessive dirt and debris built-up

  2. Thickness of card

HOW TO RESOLVE:

  1. To determine the part of the machine affected by a stuck card refer to the error code on the operation panel LCD.

  1. Open the printer cover and close it again for the printer to start initializing and automatically eject the card

  1. If the card doesn’t eject you need to open the printer cover again and press the menu button then select “move card” and you can remove the card manually.

  1. Begin turning the card gently with your fingersIt begins to move all the other rollers, and your card hopefully be pushed out causing it to become unstuck.

PREVENTION:

  1. First update your card printer’s drivers and latest firmware installed on the printer.

  1. Clean your printer. Regularly cleaning the printer will keep out dust and debris, which can damage the printhead.

Note: The most common reason for an issue like this is dirty rollers where the card slips and fails to fully enter the flipper in time.
