How to force install Microsoft access database engine

If you are unable to install Microsoft Access Database Engine using the standard installation process, you can try running the installer with the /quiet command through Command Prompt.

Follow the steps below to perform the installation.

Step 1: Download the Installer

Download the 32-bit (x86) Microsoft Access Database Engine installer from the official Microsoft website:

Locate the downloaded AccessDatabaseEngine.exe file on your computer.

Step 2: Check the Installer's File Path

  1. Locate AccessDatabaseEngine.exe.
  2. Right-click the file and select Properties.
  3. Open the Security tab.
  4. Locate the Object name field and check the file path.

Use this information to identify the installer's location.


Step 3: Open Command Prompt as Administrator

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Search for Command Prompt.
  3. Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
  4. Approve the administrator permission prompt if one appears.


Step 4: Run the Installer with the Quiet Command

In Command Prompt, enter the installer file path followed by /quiet.

For example, if the installer is in your Downloads folder, enter:

C:\Users\YourUsername\Downloads\AccessDatabaseEngine.exe /quiet

Important: Replace YourUsername with your actual Windows username and adjust the path if the installer is saved in a different location.

Press Enter to run the command. The installation should proceed without displaying the usual installation interface.



 

Step 5: Verify the Installation

After running the command, wait for the installation process to finish. Then, try opening the application that requires Microsoft Access Database Engine to check whether the issue has been resolved.
