How to connect to Magicard Printers via LAN

This guide explains how to connect a Magicard printer to a network using a LAN (Ethernet) cable. It also covers how to configure a static IP address and verify the printer’s network settings.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Devices and Printers

  1. On your Windows computer, open Devices and Printers.

  2. Locate your Magicard printer.

Step 2: Open the Network Configuration Settings

  1. Right-click the Magicard printer icon.

  2. Select Printer Properties.

  3. Open the Network tab.

  4. Click the Ethernet button.


The Network Configuration window will appear. This window allows you to configure and save the printer’s IP address.

You can choose between:

  • Static IP address – A fixed IP address that does not change automatically.

  • Dynamic IP address – An IP address assigned automatically by the network.

A static IP address is commonly used for network printers.


Step 3: Configure the Static IP Address

  1. Select Use Static Network Settings.

  2. Enter the appropriate network settings for your network, including the IP address and other required details.

  3. Make sure the settings are compatible with your network.

If you are unsure which values to use, contact your network administrator.

Step 4: Save the Settings and Connect the LAN Cable

  1. Click OK to save your network settings and close the configuration windows.

  2. Connect the LAN cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the Magicard printer.

  3. Power-cycle the printer:

    • Disconnect the printer’s power supply.

    • Reconnect the power supply.

  4. Wait for the printer to finish initializing.

Step 5: Verify the Printer’s IP Address

After the printer has fully initialized, use the printer’s front panel to check its saved network configuration.

Check the displayed IP address to confirm the printer’s network configuration.
